Buyers

The buying process is best experienced with a real estate professional who is organized, perceptive and a good listener. The initial process is all about understanding what makes you feel good when you see a home you like and why. When we initially talk, you may hear me asking questions that give me a feeling about you and your family's needs, likes and desires. Our first time out looking at property is similar to how a wine tasting might go. I'll show you homes that may be slightly above or below your goals in order to gain feedback that will lead us to a property that's a good fit. The more I get to know what you like and value, the better the likelihood you'll find a home in an area you like with the features you desire.

I'm a believer in earning your trust. I do that by helping you understand the value of the multitude of things I'm doing behind the scenes and even before we initially get together to ensure your welfare and success. I preview homes weekly to stay current on the inventory. I network about listings that will be coming on the market (pocket listings). I make calls in advance to see if a property is still available and to check on disclosures that might affect a property's value. I make sure you've talked with a mortgage professional in order to have a good idea of your buying power and to be prepared with documentation in the event you find something you can't live without.

We start the process by shopping the web on the MLS or using my new software called Listing Book. You'll be able to see pictures, satellite views, special features, specs and a map showing the property's location. This shopping process allows you to become familiar with the current inventory. You can shop slow or jump right into things at your own speed. When you're ready, we go look.

As you get closer to identifying a property you want to buy I will go over the California Association of Realtors standard contract and talk in as much detail as you'll need to become comfortable with understanding it's meaning. Upon coming to an agreement on price and terms, an escrow account is opened and the process of the sale begins. I'm always available to talk about any aspect of the process and I will never push you into anything; only give you data and the information you'll need to make a rational well analyzed decision. I look forward to working with you and I welcome the opportunity to chat with you in advance about any aspect of the process or how we get started.
